About Malte Roesner
Since his operatic debut in 2005, Mr. Roesner has sung more than fifty roles on stage. Aside from his vocal capacity, his stage presence and versatility have received notable praise from both the audience and the press. In addition to his stage work, he makes regular appearances in concert and is an avid lied recitalist. After almost eleven years as a baritone at the Brunswick National Theater, Malte Roesner has recently transitioned to bass repertoire.
In the upcoming season he is going to give his North American debut with three song recitals – including a world premiere – and a production of Martin y Soler’s “The Chastity Tree” at West Edge Opera in the San Francisco Bay Area. In Germany, he will be participating in the world premiere of the oratorio “Brother Martin” as part of the celebrations surrounding the 500th anniversary of the reformation. Further plans include the devil in Weinberger’s “Schwanda, the Bagpiper” at the Giessen City Theater.
